Hi all,

I'm taking my 67" in a different direction. When I first bought my car when I was 20. I'm 30 now. At the time, I wanted a ragged edge big block and hide-away headlights. The overheating and 7 mpg has grown old. Today, my goal is a color change, autocross and an overdrive transmission. I would love to do a mini-tub or aftermarket frame but, that's too far of a stretch for my budget. So, I'll be on as much rubber as I can stuff in the stock wheel wells.

What I got:
496 cid Big Block (Canfield heads, stroker crank, 850 cfm carb)
Turbo 400 (manual valve, 10" converter)
12 bolt (3.73)
Vintage Air Front Runner
Wilwood front disc, stock rear drum
1st gen love....

What's in the making:
Hotchkis TVS kit
Wilwood master & prop. valve
Magnaflow SS exhaust
American Autowire Classic Update kit.
Original center console w/ gauges
Original Tachometer
Quiet-flow fuel pump Ditched the QF (interal electical issues) for a Holly HP 150 + return regulator
4L80E Picked up a US Gears V2OD
18" rims, CCW Lipmeisters, black center, chrome lip 18" Bonspeed GTB, Nitto NT05 tires

The wishlist:
Bigger brakes, 4 wheel disc
Mini-tub

This is where I'm at today.

More progress!

The interior is installed. Console and gauges are back to original (except the ammeter). I decided to add some stereo equipment also. Picked up a Retrosound model 2, Image Dynamic components, Sundown amps, Fi Q 12" subwoofer, and Screamin' Performance kick panels.

Really like the new look. I am also working on a 67 camaro and was wondering what seats you used they look comfortable.

Procar Rally 1000 seats and a matching rear seat cover.

How do you like those seats? Do they look like they're going to hold up well? Are they comfortable to sit in? They look great, as does the rest of the car!

I find they are a significant improvement over the stock seats. Biggest improvement, they recline. Second, the large bolsters keep you "tucked" in the seat. They feel more sporty and attached to the car, versus sitting on a mini-bench seat. The trade off is it can be uncomfortable to sit sideways in the seat when your working on the car. They do look well constructed with quality vinyl covers. I'm confident they'll last a long time.

One shortfalls I see,
The slider rails are functional, but underwhelming. They are not precision cut pieces and don't slide very easy. I suspect they will wear in and slide easier over time.

I'm interested in what model Megashifter you used and how much modification it took to fit in the stock console? I'm looking for a floor shifter to use as the stock one is not going to work, and plus i wasn't fond of the look anyway.

Sorry, haven't checked in for a while

I used the 80690 Megashifter.

I had to sink it into the transmission tunnel 1" because the body (ratcheting mechanism) of the shifter is too tall to fit under the console. I also had to trim off the "ears" on the shifer body, where the stock B&M chrome plate mounted.

The aluminum plate was done on a cnc mill. I used the B&M plate as a template for the boot hole.

Let me know if you need more info.
