for those of you who tell me "you don't know how much effort goes into a rendering" **** you. i know exactly how much effort goes into one i have been doing it my entire life and so has the rest of my family which is why we werent going to pay for one. and for the person who said "you arent going to post here because people wont give you free stuff" that is not the case i wasnt going to post here because of the way i was treated they could have acted like adults and just said " i dont think there is anyone who does that" instead of using the sarcasm and for the other person who said "get the **** outta here" does it make you feel good about yourself to verbally assault a minor? because it sure doesnt make me feel good but i was raised with morals. i dont care if i get banned from this forum from this go ahead i will be the one laughing at the end

Think about it...

I am sure the request was innocent, but there are probably 7-10 guys here on this board that do renderings for a living and each of them contribute greatly to the board as sponsors and people that comment on the board, help people visualize their builds and so on and so forth. So, the guys around here tend to protect their own knowing how much these artists mean to this community and realizing that these people pay their bills by contracting with paying customers. I certainly expect payment for my area of expertise. I am sure you didn't intend any ill will by asking about a freebie, but to me it isn't any different than asking a sponsor to give you some free parts.

From here, I think you have two options: you could be the bigger guy and move forward and start adding to the board and this will very likely be forgotten in a week or less. Option two, you can continue to fuel the fire, possibly get banned by a mod and miss out on a great community of guys who build some awesome machines and are generally pretty good folks.

Brandon welcome to the forum,

relax a little, just get involved with the forum, start by posting pictures of that red 1947 PT dodge, like you did on your facebook page, go to events, and if like you said, about the renderings " i have been doing it my entire life and so has the rest of my family " maybe you could offer free renders to others, or at least keep showing off your handy work(scan the images they show up better), as for "i will be the one laughing at the end" if your banned, you will miss out on this forums members, who are many featured in magazines, some are the top autocross drivers at events across the country, along with many of the top manufactures in the industries

Good Luck

Project pictures heal wounds around here too. I think everybody would be interested in the 47. I am going to have to google to see what one even looks like.

@ turbo

Seems, a bit of tact is what is missing from your original post. Asking for "help" instead of a handout would have been the way to go.

Great looking dodge. btw... I now have the want to own a tommy gun.

well, i am going to say you got started out on the wrong foot here.. not a big deal that you had a blowout with abunch of people here but more or less what you do from now on matters." You need to learn how to listen, so you can listen to learn". you said you were a minor and clearly we all can tell you are a little young with some of the comments that were made. do yourself a favor and step back and observe, read and ask good questions.. you will be surprised how people will react. i teach automotive to highschool kids and the one thing that puts people off is when you preach on what you can do and how great you and your family are.. dont preach , do..
i like the fact you posted a picture of your drawings, they are good , not professional like what you will see on this board but better that i can do. good luck , step back and realize you are only a young kid who loves cars. learn something from the older guys who loves cars here.. hopefully when another events hit closes to me on the east coast we all can meet one day
gd luck on your build

see how this is going now?

see what a little bit of humble assimilation into a community can do rather than just headbutt in..

we are not THAT mean, and we like the fact young guys are getting into these old cars.. we dont want to make it suck for you.

but you need to know the boundaries, sport..

can you dig that?

I agree that there's a right way and wrong way to go about things. Yes, he started off wrong but some replies were wrong also. Teach don't discourage and several wrongs don't make a right.

Brandon,

Welcome to the site. It's great to see youngsters join here... it's the future of our hobby. Read, listen, and learn, and good luck with your project.

You also need to pay attention to how you write: we use English here. We aren't grammar Nazis, or spelling bee champions, but try to craft sentences and paragraphs in your writing. The more clearly you write, the better you'll be understood.

Welcome to the site Brandon.

I have to say I got a good laugh reading all the banter going back and forth. I am sorry it was at your expense... As others have already said, it was how the first question and comments were posed that struck everyone wrong. There is probably a need for a small clarification in what you were originally asking for. If you spent some time reading on this site prior to making your request you might have thought that guys with skills were creating "renderings" for free by just asking for the service. What you CAN get for free on this site (as I have myself) is help with a little "photoshopping". These are not the professionals that make an income from their professional RENDERINGS. They are the guys who have honed some real good skills on one of the photoshop programs on the market. They can take a picture of your existing ride and change the color of it, lower it, add different wheels to it, maybe add some stripes on the car, add a spoiler/splitter/wing on the car, etc. If you go into the "Multimedia and Photography" section, guys are all the time asking for someone to volunteer to do some of these minor things to an existing picture of a project. You CAN get that for free and, up front, it can sometimes help solidy a direction for your project. I have also spent a couple hundred dollars on a professional "RENDERING" (done by a professional) and it was well worth EVERY penny.

I just thought I would make sure you knew the difference in the two services and what you might have a better chance of getting some help with...

BTW, when you have cooled down and you re-read the original string of posts, I am sure you will see the humor in it also... :lmao:

And you have to admit... Mr Vengeance has the BEST .gifs out there!! :1st: He ALWAYS finds the right picture to speak a thousand words!! :rotfl:

Trust me... you will NOT find a better car site than this one... YOU would be the one losing if you walked away from here because of a little fun (at your expense...) :) Don't worry, it's happened to all of us at one time or another. We have all said things we wished we could take back and rephrase... You won't find a cooler set of guys than you will on this site. I can guarantee that!

Because the next time you are driving through Alabama I have a nice big blank white wall in my garage that I want you to have some fun with, for free of course. I kid, I kid!

And to Brandon, I am glad you decided to hang around. I didn't find this site until I was about 26. I am jealous that you are surrounded by such cool cars in your teen years. You are going to have a blast around here and I hope you know how fortunate you are to be in a car family. Not everybody gets exposure this early. That is the reason I was hoping you would stay around. You are getting a great head start.

All I did was ask if anyone wanted to mow my lawn for free, I thought that would be more effective than attacking your actual post.
