What rear end is this?

I found a guy locally parting his old drag 3rd gen. Was gonna buy his torque arm, but then noticed in the pics that the rear is not a 10 bolt. Is then a 12 bolt? I looks like my buddies S60 rear cover. Its a few hours away and the owner doesn't know.

$300 with the torque arm... should I even care what it is?

That isn't a 12-bolt. Maybe it is the Dana 44 from the early Firehawks, the only rear axle other than the 10-bolt or BW 9-bolt to have a torque arm mount.

looks like a dana 44. gm had them as OTC parts for 3rd gens. $300 i'd nab it

Well from what I just found on another board it that its the BW 9bolt factory differential. Thought I was onto something here. Dana 44 and 9 bolts look similar, but metal fill plug in 44, and push in rubber plug on the 9 bolt.

Bummer. Guess I need to see how low a price he will go on the tq arm :)
