Does it make a difference what my LS-1 comes out of??

Ran into a guy tonight that said "hey I know of a LS-1 you can get cheap- $350"....He continued...."think it came out of a '99 impala or something like that" My research found they put a LS-1 in a 99 caprice....guessing that is what it's out of....maybe not, might not even be a LS-1.

Going to look at it tomorrow evening...PLEASE...any help on what to look for or what to avoid would be MUCH appreciated. But then if it is an aluminum block GM engine might even be worth the $350 in Alum scrap <smile>

check that.....my "research" was a wikipedia article....said Holden made a caprice in '99....looks like "if" it is a LS-1 it only was in the Camaro, Firebird, and Corvette in those years. I know what a LS-1 looks like....8 cylinders.....anything else to look or look out for??

Well....THAT was a waste of time. Turned out to be a LT-1 Tune-port.....not worth the gas it took to get there.

Yeah, I was going to say something, but when he mentioned Holden....thinking they were made in Australia. Hoping he didn't drive there......
