Howdy,

Doing some modeling on the front suspension of my Riviera and it looks like with the dramatic change in scrub radius, I can now run a wider wheel and tire upfront and keep the stock turning radius. However the turning radius is one of my most hated things about the car since it's huge! If I stick with a 8.5in wheel I can cut nearly 2ft off of the turning radius. If I step up to a 9.5in wheel the turning radius basically stays the same but I gain that extra bit of tire up front.

What would you pick?

I'd pick the wider wheel if you intend to auto-X or lap with it. My 9.5" wheels increase the turning radius significantly on my truck but the extra contact patch is worth it for me. The occasional 3 point turn will just give people a bit more time to appreciate your car!

Usage calls for more along the lines of open road or open track type useage, really a high performance cruiser. Using the formula Turning Radius = Track Width/2 + (Wheelbase/SIN(AVG Steering Angle)), my stock radius is 22ft. The 8.5in wheel with a maxed out tire gives me 20.4ft radius and the stock C5/6 tire gives a 19.9ft turning radius.

That better frame my question?
