I provided a link, and I was looking for the a ball park length on the coil-overs to put on my 68 camaro, I am going to build something similar to the chicane kit. If somebody has that kit and knows the compressed/extended length, that would be a great help. Also, does anybody know if the website price is for one coil-over, or for two? Because it would kinda be a wash to pay 500-600 for the coil-overs and springs, if you can get the chicane kit for 700.

I don't see the link, but I think you are referring to Speedtech's website. First, I would recommend just buying the ATS brackets rather than fabricate something yourself. There's already enough fabrication involved in installing the ATS brackets alone, so to add to the fabrication of the brackets would create unwanted headaches. I am in the process of installing this setup on my 67 Camaro. I have dealt with all the headaches of it and have worked out all the kinks that came with this install. Tyler, original developer of the ATS brackets, as well as James of the OLC Camaro confirmed to me that I need to run the 5.2" stroke coil-over. That spec matched my own measurements. The 5.2" stroke coil-over is the same length shock as my rears with the Ridetech Airbar. The standard upper cup, holds the spring at the top of the shock, that comes with the Ridetech coil-overs interfered with the ATS bracket. I had to order the 1.25" drop cups to create clearance. I was told to use 10" springs, so the drop cups work better with the 10" springs on such a long shock. Also, I am using the double shear brackets that weld to the bottom of the lower control arm which provide an attachment point for the bottom of the coil-over. The double shear brackets are $50 extra over the $250 price of the ATS brackets. If you chose not to use the double shear brackets, then you can buy the trunnion bars which allow the shock to attach in the traditional manner. They are a $40 extra cost from Ridetech. The double shear bracket is a much stronger method of attaching the bottom of the shock. The coil-overs are priced per pair. That's pretty much all the information you will need for this setup. You will definitely need aftermarket lower control arms that are strong enough to handle coil-overs also. Stock lowers 'will' not be strong enough and there is nothing you can do to beef them up really.

Since you will likely need lower control arms, and you like our shocks, why not just purchase a bolt-in solution and be done with it?
The math is all figured out. . .you just drop it in in the morning, and go driving that afternoon.

while I know your kit works well, I just prefer the added piece of mind of a double sheer top mounting bracket over a bayonet top mount.

I have the 5.2" ridetechs front and rear also with the chicane kit and speedtech tq arm. I also have the standard spring cups and 12" springs up front. there were no interference problems with my set up.

Well aren't you special. I had enough interference to justify having to use drop cups. The 10" spring with the drop cups make the spring fit perfectly on the shock.
