My engine came with this clamp like deal on the fuel rail.
62277
Can't quite figure out how to get it off, but it does a good job of routing, so I'd like to use it. What kind of connection do I need to get for it?

Are you talking about the rubber line connecting to the fuel rail? That metal clip will come right off by hand. The actual fuel hose needs to be removed with a fuel line disconnect tool. Get a good one, because some suck and wont disenage the locking paws.

You need a disconnect tool. They look like this:
62278 or
62279
Most parts stores carry them.

The clamp like part you are refering to is a safety to keep them coming apart. forget using the plastic tools to get them apart. i tried it with no luck. I used one like this & had no problem.

The line with the yellow tape, it's got a metal clamp like thing on the end, and that tool pulls it off?
The disconnected side has like 4 prong like teeth that hold on to something, what does the hose (or line) that goes in it look like? (I want to adapt it to my body line)
Thanks guys.
Appears the Corvette reg has the same thing, but a better picture.

Scot is right...it is a safety clip. You just lift it up and off with your fingers...very easy! Once its off then u can use the little tool shown above to push in and release the fuel line.

You can make that bubble flare connection on a Steel line with a Master Cool Flaring tool. I used that same rubber hose that came with the engine to make my fuel connection. The Master Cool tool will even put the bubble flare on Stainless line. I was amazed...

A couple bucks? Don't think it is the same tool. I have not seen the Master Cool tool for much less than $300.

Doh! I thought you were talking about the tool to release the fittings. Sorry about that.

While we're on the subject of getting crap off the LS engines, how do you remove the line right next to the fuel hose in that picture? I think it's part of something for emissions and it connects to the throttle body.

I believe that solenoid controls the evap canister... If you just want the hose off... squeeze the plastic ring on the end you're trying to remove and pull it off. I removed the whole solenoid and pugged the nipple on the manifold. the bracket just snaps into the manifold

Got it, I just started yanking on it until it gave lose. Don't believe it's worth anything, so didn't really care if I ended up breaking it, lol. I pried it off with a flat head screwdriver. That little plastic thing was confusing me, wasn't sure which way to go with it.
