Hello,
I just got a holley HP double pumper 750. And it comes with electric choke. Is there any way of removing it?
I not sure if I want to keep it. I'm not used to have any choke.
Opinions would be great.

Thanks
Rob

I have the same carb. I have it zip tied open. Or is it close? I can never remember. You can't even see it. I have no issues with it like that. Runs perfect.

I removed all the choke hardware from my Holley double pumper and have no starting issues but I did install a larger set of shooters. However, if you live in a cold climate you would be wise to keep the choke functional.

That's why I just tied mine up. I can hook it up this winter.

Why not just have the choke operate properly if it is still on the carb? At operating temp it would be fully open.

If you live in a cold climate then leave the choke on and set it up properly. If you live in a warm climate then take it off and you won't have any issues. I live in Texas and never run chokes on holleys. Even when the weather is around freezing, two pumps and it the motor will fire up fine. You do need to make sure your timing and carb is set up correctly before removing the choke because you may have starting issues due to the tune.

To be fair you will never feel a difference in the seat of the pants between having a properly set up choke and the choke removed. I took them out for less things to go wrong and easier service.
