what are people using and what is a good place to get some that are not real pricey?
I have a chance to get a set of four speedline wheels 17x9.5 for $180 but they are for a c5 vette and I will need them to fit a 72 nova. I will prob have the fronts narrowed but some of the prices for the adapters are making this exspensive
Thanks

I got mine from EZ adapter. They are 6061 T6 aluminum and are good quality. A good idea would be to put in some ARP studs. Most of the guys on the road race forums who use them have had good luck and they pound on them. I paid 89.99 per set IIRC.

Ii wouldnt trust adapters if you want to actually drive your car...scary.

If they are bolt on, hub centric and you use a good quality stud, I would think they are just as safe as bolting wheels to the axle.

No personal vouch for their quality but no one I know using them has had a problem. Website is very easy to use as well.

Again no personal vouch for the quality but Fred is easy to deal with and I've been sent to him by multiple people.

Id like to know who makes "race" quality durable adapters..
for those who are running vette wheels spaced that want to autoX with them.

Depending on the thickness and quality of aluminum used, adapters are not a bad thing. If you do use them do not scrimp on the cost to get the cheapest. Find a trusted supplier and expect to pay from $50.00- $75.00 each for a part that will last. As 67rally said, find adapters that are hub centric and use quality studs.

I have 60+ autoX's on my 2.5" adapters and 'vette wheels. I keep a close eye on them and haven't seen any signs of wear or impending failure (although I don't really know what that may look like!).

Porsche and other race car teams have used adapters for years on thier race cars, even on thier road cars. Just use a quality set.

In calling Maier racing to see what offset wheels they are using on their Mustang. I found out that even Mike users wheels spacers.

I have a set of 15mm Eibach spacers on my 69 Camaro. I used the same front and rear.
I'm running C6 Z06 rims, 18 x 9.5 in the front and 19 x 12 in the back.
Everything fits great. I would have liked 20mm in the front but couldn't find a hub centric set easily.

I've got a couple sets from Fred Goeske.. he makes the hub and wheel centric to your spec..high on price, but that's not a place to cut corners.
