Has anyone used a Lokar throttle pedal assembly in a first gen Camaro with a big block? I was thinking of changing over to one while my motor was out, but I'm concerned with where the Lokar cable comes out of the firewall. I think the head and valve cover are too close to the firewall for the cable to clear.

You can relocate the hole anywhere (within reason). I haven't personally done it but I've seen a few build threads in here, just redrill the hole.

I started with Lokar's accelerator pedal for my 69 Camaro (also a big block), but as I recall, the cable came out in a bad location. There really isn't much room for movement since it needs to come out pretty close to being directly behind the arm. What I did was went with the Lokar Eliminator pedal (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LOK-FMG-6098/) instead. It mounts on the floor and puts the cable location down underneath the firewall. This also let me fully smooth my firewall since I didn't need to leave the old pedal mount location.

One warning though, if you are running a hydraulic clutch that has the long hard line with the bleeder valve, it may get in the way of the pedal. I had to build a custom line and relocate the bleeder on my setup.

Here's the pedal installed. Looks a bit different, but I've driven the car and it works great. By the way, if anyone wants one of these A/C mounts, I think home depot has them on sale in the lumber department

Here's a picture of the firewall before the engine went in. You can see the pedal arm sticking out under the firewall to the right. The cable mounts at the top.

I don't have any better pictures of everything installed, but here you can see the acc cable coming up from behind the motor to the LH side of the blower.

Here's a picture of the clutch line run right through the pedal. This probably would have worked ok, but I didn't like it so moved the clutch line

I used one. I drilled a new hole and ran the cable up in an "S" to the throttle bracket. It doesn't have to be straight since it's a cable within a sheath.

I am in the process of switching to a Lokar cable and 6 cyl Camaro pedal. PM me your phone number and i'll send you a pic of mine on my 69 Camaro.

I ran the same pedal assy, I just drilled a hole in line with the pedal for a straght shot out the fire wall so it wouldn't bind in the cab, this was in a BB 68, it flexed fine up to the carb.
