widest 18in wheels and tires for 3rd gen nova

What would be the widest 18in wheel and tire (http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202904#) I can run without having issues on my 72? I will have stock upper and lower control arms, but will have 2in drop spring and hotckis rear leafs or some 2in drop leafs if I can find some. I will also have C5 front brakes with LS1 rear.
I dont mind if I have to cut the rear lip or massage something as long as it works
Any suggestions from setup that are on the road?

Brandon, if I'm not mistaken a 8" wheel with 5.5" bs or a 9" with 6" back spacing. You'll probably have to roll fender and massage inner well to fit a 275-40-18". I know a few guys on stevesnovasite have run that combo.
