A freind of a freind asked me to go test drive this car and give it an inspection as he is looking to purchase the vehicle. I have done several c4 and c5 suspension swaps on several hot rods, trucks and even on a 66 vette we built for boneville but I am by no means a corvette expert. I am confident I can take a look and access the quality of the build but I was thinking this thing is priced a little high for what it is. I havent been following auction prices and corvettes very closely- we mainly do camaros, novas, mustangs, bel airs and such. I though for the price it was going to be matching numbers stock, or have a better drive train package. What do you guys think?

I'm a newbie here but I would advise your client to run and hide from Specialty. I live about 2 minutes from their old San Carlos showroom which was shut down earlier this year by Federal investigators. Just Google them to read the scary truth. Basically they would agree on a price with a seller, say 30k, get a real buyer for it at 30k or 28k, then call the seller and say the offer was for 24k and they should take it. they would then pocket the difference on top of their regular fees. For that price range he should be getting something more, tell him to wait till the GG show in Pleasanton and I'm sure he'll find a ton of options in that range, or less...

yea same stories different location. I actually used to help those guys build their speedster replicas after they put out a bunch of crap- I sorted it all out for them, started turning a quality product and the owner at the time backed out of our deal. We passed on that car and im looking at flights to go check out another 62 builder sitting on a c6 based chassis in missouri. Ill start a build thread if the guy ends up picling it up.

Yeah, watch those guys....young, I was wondering what happened. They closed up fast, figured it was a lease or city issue.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with Scott.

If we end up with this project there isnt much to figure out other than to fit a soft top with a 345 tire and tub. Itd already on a c6 based chassis with the body mounted. Its basically wheels, tires and finish work at this point.
