I have access to a prototyping machine.
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to make a 1/4 scale model of my chassis, drivetrain and suspension of the SLC I am getting ready to build.

As I already have 3d drawings of most of these pieces, it would not be hard to do, just take time and material.

I am figuring it would help with the overall design and layout. Also easier for figuring fitting issues of some parts.
Also figure it would be interesting to have once the car is done for shows and such.

If you already have the data in CAD, prototyping on an SLA is a neat trick but not necessary for design and developemnt. If it's in CAD then you should have a REALLY good idea as to fitment. If it doesn't fit in CAD it won't fit with SLA parts. If there ARE issues they should be worked out in 3D before anything is sent out for prototyping. If you go ahead with the model think about doing it in 1/10th scale. There are a lot more ready made items for the R/C world that you could use plus, 1/10th is big enough to work with if there are issues.
