T56 for a Pontiac

I'm wanting to put a T56 in my '68 Firebird, and I think I've found one, but the guy doesn't know for sure if it's from an LT1, or LS1 yet. I'll try and get that figured out asap. If is it from an LT1, is there any way to make it work in my car, or would it just end up costing more than finding an LS1 version?

Way harder to adapt the LT1 version. I'd just hold out until you got an LS1 tranny. I have an easy way to swap that into a 'Bird as well. I just finished a 67 with a Poncho engine and LS1 style T56.
