Fast ez efi

Ok, so I just got my car on the road. My engine has less than 300 miles on it. I have a 383, bored .40 over which actually makes it a 388, 305H cam, iron heads with roller rockers, Holley 750 double pumper under a edelbrock RPM performance intake. Its estimated at about 485hp. I have a 5 speed tranny hooked to it with 373 gears out back. Since the recent work to bore it out to .40 over, my fuel economy took a serious crap. It was pretty decent until the work on the motor.

I am considering going to some sort of EFI system and was wondering what you guys thought about FASTs EZ kit. Any testimonials out there to help make my decision? Im wondering about performance drop off and about fuel economy.

The more expensive route is to pull this motor out and replace it with an LS based power plant which I should have done in the first place.

I have a 72 camaro with a zz383 and a fast efi. I love the fast efi system. Do I wish I had done an LS with efi. Yeap.

What were your gains with the FAST system with regards to HP, MPG and TQ? How about overall driveability?

Driveability is great. Fast ezefi is as good as the carburator I have ever had...turn the key and drive off. efi won't make any more hp then a carb. MPG......no idea.

I had that same discussion with myself a few days ago. I just got my motor from the machine shop and have yet to run it, but I have a FAST EFI unit for install when I do. If I went LS, I could sell the FAST unit for what I have into it , but I'm sure I would take a loss on the motor. I'm going to run mine until it pukes, then look into an LS. I won't feel it as bad selling a rebuildable core vs new rebuild with a possible loss.

You may want to check the FAST XFI too http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=FS&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=3012350-05&Category_Code=XFISmallBlockChevy ? For that price I would do the LS Swap, $1500 for the FAST EZ-EFI is reasonable IMO. If you want the multi-port and tuneablity the others offer, I would just do the LS swap.

I have installed 2 Fast EZ-EFI systems with great results. One on a 502 crate engine and it ran better than it ever did with carb. The other on a built 355 that worked flawless. I do like the looks of the MSD EFI system because it is return less system (less fuel lines to run), but I can't speak for how well they work.

i went with a powerjection III ( its still in a box waiting to get installed though).

I feel like the Powerjection is a better value , especially considering it will control power adders. I didn't want any "kit's" janky fuel pump, so i didnt get it as part of the package, I paid just over $1400 for my setup and I'm waiting to get a fuel pump until I've got all of my turbo parts collected ( because what I need may change).
