I did one on a 57 Chevy truck and it is was pretty easy. Make sure you have the correct crimpers. If I remember correctly, I had to cut some of the zip ties that were on the harness from the package but, it was pretty self explanatory.

Every wire comes out except for like the last part of the license plate light.
Just take your time and use aaw tech support. I started with the rear and worked my way forward. Take into account how long the wires will need to be once everything is put back together/must be hidden. And also keep in mind what modifications may be done in the future.

Get a pair of ratcheting strippers, some heat shrink tubing, a lighter, pair of wire cutters AND the best crimpers you can afford. (wish I woulda went ratcheting on the crimpers and used heat shrink) :/

Make sure you have the packard crimpers or ones that do the double crimps. You can also rent them from AAW.

You can use flux core solder or have the flux seperate. DO NOT USE ACID CORE SOLDER!!!!!!

Solder every connection. I didn't at fiirst and had some pull out.

I also ordered extra connectors, because I know I would screw a couple up.

Take your time and read the directions they are your friend.

As mentioned use flux either way. Also you may not be heating the wire & connector hot enough for the solder to flow out.

There are videos on the AAW website and you-tube that show you how to properly crimp for their harnesses. Take the time to watch them and buy or rent the proper crimpers or you will have a heck of a time troubleshooting bad crimps. One or two bad crimps can drive you crazy....

I recently finished a complete rewire of my 71 rs/ss with the aaw kit. I bought some packard crimpers on ebay. They were a bit tricky on the first crimp but after that it was a breeze. I did the whole rewire in about six hours and everything but the wiper motor worked. I had it plugged in wrong. I was very happy with the outcome and quality of the kit. I only used solder where aaw recommended. AAW does supply you with some extra terminals. Good luck

There's a whole little bag labeled "extra/practice" connectors. It's not that bad, really.

Really. It was not too tough. The instructions were pretty clear. The big help was having every original piece of wire out of the car. If you familiarize yourself with the layout of the original parts, the aaw kit makes a lot of sense. The toughest part was building the pin connector for the original instrument panel. Really not that hard but it was time consuming. I did spend an additional two hours after the install, and making sure it all worked, cleaning up my routing in the trunk and under the hood.

I did have an issue with aaw's neutral safety switch mount. The switch was perfect but the mount sucks. Fortunately I had ordered a mount from another supplier that was a match for the stock part and fit the aaw switch exactly. I needed this as I converted the car from auto to manual trans.

That is great.

No a/c in Vegas in the summer? I am surprised you could find the phone, I would be delirious!
