By the way here is something I still haven't said. I see Boyds Billet Wheels or Genuine Boyds is advertising on this site. They are absolute junk. They are in the process of going out of business since last summer. They told me that my PT-22 wheels were coming in 3 months and it took them 7 months to get them to me. Also the 20 x 10's they sent had the worst run out. My wheels wobble now. I even sent them back to them to look at them and they just said they were fine. They are not fine. I have had several people looking at them and have had them on balancers. Do not buy their wheels if you do not want to have a wobbles. I should have went with Rushforth's...... BE WARNED!!!!!!!

i ordered a new set new set of PT-09's from Hot Rods By Boyd which is ran by Chris Coddington. Awsome set of wheels. They had a reasonable turn around and even sent e-mail updates. When I talked to Chris he said Boyd JR ran Genuine Boyds and went out of business and he is not affilliated. Chris was great to deal with.

Believe it or not Perry from PTS was the one that discouraged me from buying the wheels. I was ready to send him a check, he like all the other vendors I talked to after told me the same thing. In light of all that happened I guess Im glad I never sent that check!

I agree with lonhix. I just spoke with Chris Coddington. Very pleasant on the phone and very helpful. Rushforth is nice stuff as well but more money. Chris was run through the ringer in the past. New program now!! Give him a shot!! Any bad experiences in the year or so?? Lets' hear it.

I agree, Chris is a good guy. Just make sure you know who you are dealing with and you should be ok.

I think you are missing the fact that there are at least 2 companies doing business under almost the same name. I would do business with the one being run by Chris. I would NOT do business with the other. A public forum is no place for the back story. But that is how I feel. Everyone should do their own research before buying custom wheels from ANYONE. With that said, I don't have wheels from either of them.
Your best plan with any of these guys is to pay by paypal, pay with a credit card, never give more than 50% up front, and have them guarantee delivery before your paypal dispute period expires. I would also do my research on dealers as well.
I would be more lenient with the big boys like HRE, BBS, Forgeline.

Im surprised this thread is still going. I think people need to be aware so they can avoid similar situations and not lose their hard earned money. A good reputation is earned and maintained. I'm not sure what you mean by zombie thread either..... No this was never resolved either. The issue was with Boyd Jr not Chris. I just want to make that clear in case they really are two separate companies.
