I am looking to do a c5/c6 disc brake swap on my 66 gto, I am using my turned down drum hub and have ride tech spindles on it. My question is which Corvette rotor, J54 or J55 apparently this corvette code determines the hat depth. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not familiar with the J54 RPO code, at least not for the C5 or C6 applications. There's a JL4 code for the active handling system on the C5's...but no J54 for either. The rotors that you need should be determined by the conversion brackets you're using in addition to the calipers. If you have "hybrid" brackets designed for C5/C6 calipers and C4 rotors, then you need to run those components. If you have adapter brackets for all C5/C6 components, then you just need to make sure the calipers (PABs) and rotors are from the same RPO application. FWIW, the overall height of the C5, C6, C6 Z51 and C6 Z06 rotors are all the same.
The standard C5/C6 brake code is JL9 => Power Brake System, Front & Rear Disc, 4-Wheel Anti-lock, 325x32/305x26, 2/1-piston floating
The C6 Z51 brake code is J55 => Heavy Duty..., 340x32/330x26, 2/1-piston PBR floating
The C6 Z06 brake code is J56 => Heavier Duty..., 355x32/340x26, 6/4-piston PBR monoblock
The C6 ZR1 brake code is J57 => Uber-Duty..., Carbon/Ceramic Rotors, 6/4-piston Brembo

Thanks for the assistance. After continuing my research I realized the J54 was defunct information, but the more I read the more cornfused I was getting. You answered all my questions in one short email, I planned to start with the rotors I wanted and build my braking system around them, I haven't purchased wheels yet so not bound by a limiting factor there.
I will be hitting you up soon for my brackets and calipers.
