From past experiences what have you guys found to be the best tire that meets the 200 treadwear or higher classification, and is available in a 295/35 18"?

The 10mm in section width is more than made up by the fact that this tire is the second best 200TW tire out there (the best being the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec which doesn't have PT sizes but is far and away the best tire)

Thoughts on the NT05 Nitto? BTW that michelin tire just won the car and driver summer tire test.

Terry Fair tried them on his Mustang and did not like them at all. I have heard some people rave about them.

I saw some fast cars on Falken 615s this past weekend and the ridetech crew seemed to like them at the Faceoff at Road America.
I have never heard anything bad about the Michelin SS other than the price.

The Nitto is hard to beat in the price range, there are a lot of very fast cars with that tire. I wouldn't hesitate to get the NT05.

For what its worth, I can offer another vote for the Falken 615s. I also like the fact that they offer a 295/40-18, which I think looks way better on older muscle cars.

I need help guys ! new here ! i purchased boss 338 wheels for my 66 galaxie fastback. i have 18x9.5 on the rear, i was looking at the Nitto 295/45/18r tires. i noticed as the rim sits i have 1.5 inches from the rim to the frame. Does anybody know if this tire will work ? i doubt the Nitto 555r sticks out 1.5 inches from the rim ? does it ? ,im talking side of rim to side of tire lol not the distance from rim up to tire i know thats the 45 measurement if any one happens to have the same tire would you be awesome enough to measure how far the tire bulges out

Are you asking "how wide is a tire with a 295 mm section width?"

I'm going to recommend these too - have a set of 275-40-17 on my Trans Am - super grippy and lots of feel, awesome turn in also. I have one of our demo wheels wityh an NT05 on it, but can't say how it handles as I just have the one (soon to get another, plus the drag radials).

How about the BFGoodrich Rival? So far they sound like they provide excellant grip and wear.
