By the end of the weekend I will have the new setup for my 67 Chevelle. The car is a 350/350/10 bolt setup now. I just did the ride tech suspension and wheels and tires along with polygraphite everything, new power steering and a grand Cherokee box.

My 5.3 is from a 2000 and has an edelbrock / MSD carb setup.

My t56 is from a Trans Am LT1 car.

I do not have AC.
My immediate questions are basic. If anyone cares to respond that has first hand knowledge I would really appreciate it.

Does the LS1 require a new pressure plate or will the one I got from the LT1 work?
Any pictures of a chevelle setup where an auto chevelle was converted to manual using late model pedals would be great.

Please recommend a cam / springs combo. Budget minded. I used Comp for SBC stuff with good results, but the LS motor is new ground for me.
The MSD box has pins to change the timing curve. I do not have the manual. Anything available here?
please pm me if you know about the 6ls from personal experience.
lastly, I am wondering what the driveshaft mod is going to cost. Any ballpark figure would be helpful.

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to sharing the progress with you all as it goes together.

I think the LT1 trans has to have the front input shaft changed to work with an LS engine.

and wlcome to the forum!! I am also running a carbed LS engine (runs like a monster!)

semi-old thread but i have some useful info on this, the LT1 T56 needs the bellhousing, input shaft and mid plate swapped to LS T56 type to work with the LS engines, also, id recommend using a later 5.3 engine as the 99 and 00's had a wider crank flange that i dont believe is compatible with the T56... id even go further and recommend an L33 5.3 its very very close in HP/TQ to a stock Ls1. A good starting cam would be an LS6 stock cam and springs, low mile used cam/spring sets pop up on LS1 tech frequently for good deals VS going new.
