Hey guys,

I'm wanting some opinions and answers as to wether or not this might work...

I'm looking at installing the new camaro headlights on my 69...I know what your thinking...:smoke::smoke::smoke:

They will be completely covered up with a full grill and only the lights will shine thru! I'm going for the Halo cat eye look under the grill and better night driving lights.

Looking at the HID's but how hard will they be to hook them up? Is there anything special that runs these? I'm just now starting on my wiring. They have some sort of computer box with them?

HID lights are a piece of cake to hook up, that "computer" thing is just a ballast that stores/regulates power to the lights...the toughest part will be mounting everything up and making it look like its meant to be there. They make headlights that fit into the stock location that have a ring of LED lights around the edge for the halo effect as well which might be an easier way to go, they are available on eBay or a Google search

Thanks much John! So it's just a normal power cable and ground? Are you talking about the stock 7" rounds? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm electrically retarded... I'll see what I can find!

My only warning would be to do a bunch of research on the quality/ longevity of the components you use as a lot, probably most of them on eBay are very low quality...might do well to search this site for what others have had to say about their HID experiences

Yes I'm talking about the stock 7" round head lights and it won't be a plug and play but it should be close...more like a cut/solder/heat shrink times 2 but it should be pretty straight forward. Bulbs are bulbs but the ballast is the heart of the HID system and from what I have read (I don't have personal experience although I have done a lot of research) you get what you pay for with regards to the ballast. Also find out if the top companies(like phillips) make aftermarket kits because I have seen eBay hid kits with brand names on them only to look on the real companies website and find out they only source parts to auto manufacturers.
