Yummy! These are great cars, if anyone is interested. Extremely comfortable--and just the right size. Looks like mine has more options. That's the first time I've seen one with a standard interior. I'll be watching it to see if it sells and what a modifed Rivi might bring.

I'm dying to tear into mine, but now is just not the time. Plan is to mate the stock, gangsta black body and interior to a Caddy SRX AWD chassis with magna-ride and a blown Northstar. I can dream, can't I? For now, I'll enjoy it as is.
Thanks for the heads up

Yeah, we have become big fans of these cars in the last few months having picked up a 65 and a 64 Dual Quad car. The exteriors are awesome, but the interior is what I love. Basically a street rod interior from the factory.
Were baging our, 20's, were going to polish the monster aluminum drums instead of disc, running the dual quad motor from the 64 with a few tricks, and a 700R adapted, stock interior in a glove leather, and maybe Tangelo and Charcoal, simliar to the one posted.
These things are still relitivly cheap, but be warned, step up and buy a nice one, cause NOTHING is avaiable in the aftermarket for these cars. Pay special attention to chrome and pot metal. The estimate from the plater to redo all the stuff on the 65 was $4000, we are accumulating lots of good used stuff.

This is the first one of two built by Custom Concepts here in OKC, Ok. It made all the magazines and sold about 18 months ago for $65K.

I like that gold one much better. Nice to see it brought some coin.
Yeah the interiors are awesome. I was arguing with Johnny Hunkins about which era Riv is best. He says 66-67. While I like all the early years--up to and including the boat-tails, the interior of the 63-65 puts them over the top.
Lots of interesting history associated with these cars:

Originally styled by Bill Mitchell after taking a trip to Europe where he experienced Rolls Royces and Ferraris. He wanted to capture key styling elements of those cars but at the same time, build a true American beauty. So you can see era Ferrari grille treatment and R-R fender peaks.
-I've also heard that these are considered to be the last of the true "handmade" production cars (for example, the door skins bolt on)
-Originally, they had planned to sell these cars under the LaSalle brand--not Buick.

:dunno: Whatever. The car's older than me, so I don't know if that stuff is true.

And Frank's right. Doesn't matter of the motor's blown, paint's shot or the seats are torn--but make sure all that trim is intact (inside and out) and in good condition. Weatherstripping is available. 65's are the first year for TH400's.

Like Steevo, I dig the earlier cars...but I'm a sucker for hideaway headlights...

The headlights are killer are'nt they. Damn headlight motor is $400 if it needs one, but worth it.

And perhaps one of the best features of the car? It comes with a three link and Panhard Bar rear suspension. :ssst:
