It is what it is.

Some people are further obligated to other means than to spend an alloted amount of time on a hobby forum.

Hung out on the weekend with him a couple of weeks ago in Arlington at the Optima event..... He is attending the Face off event at Road America in a couple of weeks as well as talking about doing the Columbus Good-guys and Motorstate Challenge in the American Street car series.... Far from away from the community,,, just not as active on the boards based on a busy booking schedule....

Why would you feel used? Thought it was cool he stopped in and posted as much as he did. I'm sure he's extremely busy.

Its just that he seemed to have all kinds of time when he was promoting his car......thats the way it seemed to come off to me thats all.

I think it is human nature for enthusiasm to be the greatest when a project is 1. started, and 2. near completion. The sometimes large stretch of time in between, and then afterward, is the grind that ALL of us go through. The difference here is the Bill is a bit better known outside our little world than the rest of us.

(about NOT being known outside here.....heck, I ain't hardly known IN HERE!!). LOL!

Was going to post something witty about Jill's, er ... Bill's, being sooooo terribly busy moonlighting as a really bad (and predictably homely) Vegas drag queen but decided to err on the side of caution given he's a lot bigger than me and while I will have suitable motivation to turn World Record times in any distance, he can kick my butt once he catches up with me and stops wheezing. Seriously, though, he'll be posting stuff as soon as he reads this and what's cool for me is I know him as "just a car guy." And a really fun guy, to boot.

LOL! There are only 2 reasons a sane person would write something like this- either they know him well enough to not be killed, or they are pretty sure they will never meet him. (If I am lucky enough to meet him at Road America I sure hope he remembers I didn't originate the quote)

If you and he are at RA, definitely go up and say hello. Bill's fun and definitely a people person who's as passionate about all things Pro-Touring (and cool cars in general) as us mere mortals are.

Unknown is what I aspire to. I'm currently more of a cellophane man, people look right through me and never know my name.

I know Bill pretty well. Great guy. He's busy as hell, and it's hard to cram everything into the day sometimes. I know that for me usually the best time for me to post on forums is when I have time off and am at home, usually early in the morning when my youngest child wakes me up and I'm feeding him breakfast. Other than that I have to try and cram my forum time in here and there when possible and mostly I'll only have enough time to read the new posts, not post anything.
