Hey guys my name is Alex and i am a newbie to the forum, so the other week i picked up a 1970 GTO with a 428 the car runs and drive pretty well although needs a tone up since it has been sitting for 5 years, the interior is in excellent condition as you can see in the second picture. The outside needs body work and paint. would like to get some paint ideas from you guys, i am thinking HOK black pearl please let me know if that a nice color for this car and please post pictures if you have any of this paint. I think lowered it'll look pretty nice with those rims.

Orbit Orange (Yellow) with the Judge stripes. The reproduction Year One 17" honeycombs would look fantastic on that car.

I actually painted my 70 GTO Carousel Red (Orange) and it didn't look right with the lines of that year car. Some people love it other don't. I ended up painting it flat black instead. I agree with Later-A-body, Orbit Orange looks fantastic on these cars. Also if you plan on keeping the vinyl top, do not lose or damage the trim. I have not been able to find replacements other than Ebay and they are kind of expensive.

Cool project. I wouldn't run the BMW wheels. The bolt pattern is not exactly the same as the GTO pattern and can potentially cause failure of all the studs. Also keep in mind that a proper wheel should be hub centric, which puts the load on the hubs and not the wheel studs.

Ditch the BMW wheels and get a set of YearOne 17 inch Rally II's

You should get some hubcentric rings for those wheels if you keep them. They are cheap piece of mind. You can get them on eBay.
