Painting Headliner trim

Can I use the same paint I used on the interior metal for the vinyl headliner trim? It would help to match the rest of the interior. I have the Sherwin-Williams adhesion promoter and the paint is S/W single-stage Dimensions.

I don't know about the Sherwin-Williams stuff, but I used Glasurit with the same steps you described. They also had a special plastic cleaner. Keep the paint film thickness as thin as you can.
