Howdy,

There is a '67 Buick Special Deluxe that's calling my name near my house. As with every project I look at what I'd do to it long before I really look at buying it.

After searching and reading and doing more searching I outlined a few upgrades I'd like to make. The biggest puzzle one is the front suspension. While there are several very nice options out there for upgrades using aftermarket spindles or control arms, I'm looking a bit more basic. I can't find even the basics of this idea on here or elsewhere on the net so I thought I'd ask it directly.

Front suspension upgrade, junkyard parts with an eye towards better handling and disc brakes. From reading, G-body front spindles will fit an A-body with some ball joint conversion. This means that S10 Blazer 2wd ZQ8 spindles will similarly work. I choose these for thier bolt on hubs and twin piston calipers in addition to fitting under 15in wheels. For improving the geometry I was thinking tall ball joints and if needed a bumpsteer correction steering arm. Now later when I find/afford 16+in wheels I could go for 4th Gen F-body rotors and calipers or C5/6 if desired.

Overall effectiveness of this idea?

Thanks,

I think you would need to shorten the upper a-arms for the tall ball joints.
