So with a kid on the way, Ive accepted my fate and know that I will be running leafs for a while. my question is since my car will be a street car 80-90% of the time driven to local Auto X events what what setup do you recommend for bushings? I currently just put some polys out back on some new heavier shackles and will be ripping the cal-tracs and their solid front bushing off, in favor of a Maier panhard kit.

i'm still running leafs......i got poly bushings in mine for now....really dont like them to much....if i had get some bushings it be the delrin bushings...they allow the more free movement and allow spring to do what its suppose to do.....be the hot ticket!

The Maier panhard bar is probably your best bet. The leafs do walk quite a bit on my car with new rubber bushings:

Ive been running the GW delalum bushings and am very happy with the results. Since u are going panhard rod out back, running a front bushing that deflects a little may be the ticket with that setup.

Before I went to a ride tech 4 link, I had leafs with a gw spherical bearing kit called the cat 5. It worked awesome but on my 67 camaro with non staggered shocks the car still would wheel hop even with double adjustable Afro shocks adjusted in every possible combination. I would ask mike maier his opinion as he really is sharp and if you are running his ph rod, I would try to match the parts. Summit carries global west and we stock a lot of it if you go that route. Had I cured the wheel hop issue, I would have stayed with the gw setup. The car would plant the rear tires out of a corner in an autos pretty well.

well one of my concerns is I had ordered the global west del-a-lum a while back for the rear and the way the bushings mount in the rear frame rail they would no go since there is a seam in the channel for the rear bushing and the global west ones are 1-piece where the factory is a 2 piece design so i destroyed a global west bushing finding this out. so If I decided to run the del-a-lum up front im pretty sure they recommend it in the rear as well. I'll talk to mike and see what he thinks.

a good suspension setup with leaf springs, is really a nice all around setup, I would run a rubber front bushing with stiffer rear shackle one (del-a-lums, poly, Delrin, etc) if you run a stiff bushing front and rear the suspension has no deflection and will bind, rubber bushings have too much deflection for track use (the car will wiggle around and drive unsettled) 2 ideal set ups that I have worked with (lower cost) is rubber front polyurethane rear, (higher cost) spherical bearing front and Delrin/del-a-lum rears

I watched the vid that slo-z28 posted and about 70% of what you see is body roll, (you can see the axle tilting in the vid by watching the rim angle changes) fixed with a better sway bar or shock, and then the spherical bearing front and Delrin/del-a-lum rear
