Is the l76 a good option for ls motor? I don't see many people use them in conversions. I was looking @ ls2's and ly6 motors but don't know much about the G8 l76. I found a reasonably priced l76 with no computer and was looking for advice on the l76, or should I keep looking for something else. I will be going in 67 camaro with t-56 and looking for around 550 HP. Thanks Nate

It's not a very well known (in the US) and used engine but yeah it's great option. It's actually a 6.0 liter (364 c.i.) version of the LS3 (376 c.i.) or you could also say it's a LS2 with the LS3 top end. And the pricing usually makes it an excellent option.

Yes... L76 motors are a great option! I get them from time to time. They are kind of hard to get a hold of. Good luck!

L76 is DOD so swapping to regular cam will involve replacing a few more parts than normal swap. Oil sump is huge (8qts) and would need to be changed. G8 does use vette pulley spacing so less things to get if you are using vette acc. The G8 setup mounts the alt down low, don't know how well that would work with a stock camaro subframe.

If its a good price I would grab it, having L92 heads already on it will make it that much easier to hit 550hp.
