Ok, who knows alot about Harrys Lap Timer app for an iPhone? Or where can I find out some SIMPLE info on how to use/set up it? I want to use it this weekend at the MMCC but it's pretty hard to figure it out for a computard like myself!! LOL!!

I've had it for a year and give up with it each time I try to use it.

Hmmm....I'll give it a whirl this weekend, sounds awesome but just crazy technical.

It can do a lot but I have yet to actually use it at an event. At RTOS I had issues dealing with a new engine/trans so I didn't spend any time working with it like I had originally planned. I hope someone can post up some info for those of us who own it!

I found it very easy to use. It's a free down load from the App Store.
After you download it, you need to go into Settings on your iPhone and turn on the Location Services for Lap Timer.
Tap "Racer's" on the bottom tool bar.
Tap "Assistant"
Tap "Load Track" and select your track from the list of tracks.
Then tap Start Driving.

Very easy and a GREAT tool.

^The tricky part is when you're running on a course or variation that isn't already in the library. I think you have to walk the track first, starting at the start/finish line. I assume that's what people are having trouble with anyway. (I've never used the app.)

I tried that and it only worked for one lap on the auto-x. So out of 25 runs, I only got the first (and slowest) one saved. And didn't get to try it on the road course. Very difficult to use, I tried almost every time, but it wouldn't ever auto start except the first.

I downloaded it, but I haven't bothered to use it at a RTTx event because as Brett points out, it is easy to use only if you're on a track that is built in. AutoX's and makeshift tracks require some user inputting of the GPS marker/triggering locations.

My brother uses it with his cars for lapping days here at Toronto Motorsports Park.
He loves it, I haven't played with it at all but he has showed me some of the info it can gather.
TMP is one of the tracks on file.
He has an add on that he plugs into the phone that makes the GPS more accurate. I'll find out what it is if anyone's interested.

Keith.
