My 68 firebird has the Hotchkis TVS kit with the 3 inch drop springs, with othrewise stock suspension. I'm running 235/40/18x8 up front and 275/40/18x9 out back as I know a lot of guys here are. My problem is that my rears are rubbing pretty bad, even after rolling the inner fender. Even the fronts are rubbing when I go over bumps. What size tires are you guys running with 3 inch drop? I really like the low look, but I don't wanto to tear up my fenders. Any advice?

Curious Whats your backspace? That should fit nicely with no rub. The only time I have seen 9" rears rub has been with something less than 5.5 backspace or leaf pads were too soft. DSE recommends the removal of pads/metal swap for tight fits.

The backspace is 5.25. So that may be the problem.

My car does not have a Hotchkis kit , but it is lowered about 3 inches .
I have :
Front -245/45/17 - 17 x 8 -( 5" backspacing )
Rear - 275/40/17 - 17 x 9.5 -( 5.50" backspacing )
I have no scrub whatsoever , under and hard cornering or hard loading .
