So I got C5 brakes on my 79 Monte project but ain't got the old Monte brakelines anymore. Want to order new stainless braided lines here in Germany but don't know which ones will fit with the hardlines (anyone know what hardline fitting connects to the flex brake line?). What did you guys used with your C5 brake swaps? Should I buy new ones for a corvette c5 or for a Monte? I found a shop here in germany selling corvette C5 braided lines so these would be easy to get.

I'm about 99% sure the fitting is a 3/8 IFF. And am 100% positive I reused my original flex brake lines, though you do need to use the bolt from the C5 hose. So if I were buying some I would get g-body lines.

Probably worth a call to Tobin to confirm everything, the 79-81s a had some strange differences.

My notes show 3/8-24 SAE inverted flare as well, however you can always cut and flare the hard line to be whatever you want it to be. The C5 hoses are M10x1.0 ISO bubble flare fittings and about 16.5" long, whereas C6 applications used M10x1.0 inverted flare and were slightly longer at 17.5". The C5/C6 caliper banjo bolt is M10x1.0.

We would typically supply a 14" hose with a universal 10mm banjo fitting on the caliper end and 3/8-24 female inverted flare fitting on the frame end.
