Our good friends Kyle and Ross from Hix Designs and Chris Kill of Avantage Audio handled the interior and the audio system in the latest Search and Restore build. Both Hix Design and Avantage Audio are our local partners when we need interior work or audio done. Troy and crew of BBT was also involved as well in the metal work portion and maybe more, did not get details. Car turned out killer from the pics I have seen. Congrats to all!

Looks like this is airing on Spike at 11AM today, Saturday 5/19 (At least for those in San Diego, your times may vary)

Just got done watching it. Very nice. Love the Hix design interior. My wife even suggested I use them for the interior in the wagon.

Id love to know where/how those bumpers where done. I only caught the end of the show but i noticed the bumpers/trim where some sort of "brushed" finish. Did they mention them earlier in the show?

They said that it was a brushed nickel plating... I love it! I would love to see the process of how they do that.

Very cool build! I loved what the owner had to say about a car being his freedom from the chair... touching.

OK look- I'm going to be honest. I have known Tim Strange for years and love his work. But choosing to paint the hood white on that red car just didn't look right. It looked like an Ambulance to me.

I asked my wife, who is not a car person, what she thought of it when it was being revealed...and she honestly said "Did they make it look like an ambulance because he's in a wheelchair?"

I liked the red/white two-tone, and the factory offered them with white roofs so it would have looked just fine that way. But the white hood and the white roof over a red body just took it right to Ambulance territory for me.

It was pretty cool seeing that car displayed at this weekends Nashville Good Guys show. Tim Strange and some of the crew that helped with the car build were all gathered around a big screen TV watching the debut of the Search and Restore episodes. Every aspect of the car was well executed and looks amazing for a build done in such a short amount of time. And yes, those brushed bumpers look even better in person than the pictures. Congrats to everyone involved. I know the owner will enjoy this car for a lifetime.

Mike do they brush the nickel after the plating process?, or brush the metal before hand.

There was a 66/67 chevelle at GoodGuys a couple years back that said he peeled the chrome off the lips of his Asanti wheels and brushed them... I have been intrigued with this brushed nickel look since :)
