I have a HP system I am installing on a sbc and I am wondering if there are any other sensors I can use other than the holley one for the fuel and oil psi. I want to log these, but these sensors are 103.99 each. Holley gave me part # 554-102. If I am logging fuel psi is there any need to have an electric gauge inside car or would it be beneficial to have one inside as well?

Most likely the sensors are standard GM. the after market like to make you think they have the latest and greatest. Put their number on a part then charge outrageous prices.

If you buy the right gauge you can run both off the same transducer. I believe they are all now a 0-5vdc deal.

You can run any 0-5v sensor. When you open your global folder, click on sensors at the top right. It gives you a list. Select "custom pressure". This will give you a chart for psi vs. voltage. You can pull the triangles up or down to set pressure at a certain voltage. You will need a good mechanical gauge connected as well to set these values.

The Holley stuff is actually spec'd by and built for them. The transducers are stainless steel, not OEM plastic. They are actually very nice. Holley has calibrated their tables to work with the resistance change of these sensors, but any sensor can be used, you just have to do the calibration in the software yourself. When you think about how much extra time that will take, $103 is not bad for a quality sensor.

You can use your warning output to trigger a light, engine shutdown or whatever, at a predetermined high or low pressure. I don't think the gauge is necessary. I'd opt for an A/F gauge if I had to choose between the two.

I am gonna go ahead and buy the holley sensors. Parts that are designed together seem to work better. I am gonna put a mechanical gauge on the fuel regulator. Would i be better to get and af gauge instead of fuel since i am running a mech. Fuel psi at reg? I think thay since i can log fuel psi and monitor it live with laptop thay electric fuel psi in car is waste....can i use wideband o2 sensor that came with holley kit on a gauge to? I have bung 12" from turbo from my old lm2 that i took off. I am using it for holley o2 can i weld another bung a few inches from it for gauge if i can use a gauge for that one too?

For what it's worth, I am running both a A/F gauge and a fuel pressure gauge in my dash. When I ran out of fuel in the middle of Iowa, I knew exactly what happened...LOL

This is another cool feature of Holley. They offer this universal gauge that can be programmed to read anything with their system such as AFR and fuel. This eliminates you from having to buy all these other parts. So with this gauge and the psi sensor I can log fuel and read it live for the cost of the autometer gauge.

I shopped around, scratched my head, then bought two Holley transducers and have not given it a second thought. I'l go back in soon and remote mount them.

I am using AEM sensors with mine. They have a brass version for about $60 each. Work great plug right in and cal the software.

I have a AEM stainless map sensor also it works great also.

Hate to Pile on here but I dont think you guys will mind .... If using the Holley Sensors can I use the outputs to feed my gauges? Building two 540 ProCharged motors for my offshore boat .....Using the HP controllers and really just learning about the HP setup ......m

Tach yes. You could get the Holley gauges but you would run out of outputs really quick. Best way would be to get the touch screen

Thats a shame ....would have been nice ..... the touch screens are great but in a marine Application in Bright sun can be hard to see ....plus the Dash thing in the offshore Boats is part of the fun ....The more I read about the HP system the more I get excited about how its going to work out .....trying to get reading to Dyno soon .......thanks for the info ..........m

From talking to holley you can.run as many gauges as you want...they told me.to.just keep jumping off if a15 in the main harness which is where the pin goes for the gauges...one great feature of using the holley transducers it is plug and play....the holley universal gauge can be programmed for anything just about.

do you know how i can connect the oil pressure to make the engine shutdown if the pressure drops?
know i can run a 12v output or ground but not make it kill the engine...
