I am tryring to find some material to fix these... it looks a lot like corduroy... but more industrial strength... like, maybe not so water absorbant?

I looked for reproductions or new ones, but didn't find anythng.

If you want to save a couple bucks, you can do what I did. I did some research and found that the material is mole skin. I purchased two 10"x3.5" pads from eBay for under $10 and, after cleaning up and painting the metal guides, I attached the pads to the plates (pads are adhesive backed)

I don't think they are moleskin actually. Moleskin is more like felt, I have used it a lot for blisters when I played soccer and rugby. Not the same as the material on these things, however it may work just as well. Worth a try anyway. :)

Money is a little tight right now. Trying to get all the little things together on this project. I really would rather have the repro's, but I don't think this part is super critical. When I recover from getting the car on the road, I'll probably get the smoked glass kit and replace these anyway.
