I know this isn't exactly a pro-touring question but there's lots of knowledge on here and thought someone may have some suggestions.

By brother has a TT RS that he just bought as his winter car and summer track car.
The car has about 1900km on it and he's on his third set of rotors, second set of pads and tires.
He has done about four lapping days at the track close by here. It's called Toronto Motorsports Park if anyone wanted to get an idea of the layout.
The stock pads and rotors lasted three track days. He upgraded to a set if Pagid Blue pads, Yokohama AD08 tires, changed the brake fluids and put back stick rotors which measure 340mm x 32mm. They are an iron rotor with an aluminum hat although the hat is not removable.
The pads were bedded in by the company who installed them and he went back to the track. After 20 or so laps the rotors were toast. They went blue from overheating.
The schrader caps on the wheels were melted on and the adhesive on the wheel weights had melted and the weights fell off.
My first thought is that he needs cooling of some sort, but what could be done about a rotor that can handle more heat?
I was thinking of an AP racing two piece or Wilwood.
Any thoughts on how to incorporate some cooling into the brakes.
He needs to drive the car in the winter also so maybe something that can be removed to allow the brakes to get up to temperature in the winter.

Thanks

Keith.

Well, brakes convert the momentum of a moving vehicle into heat and its obvious that his are over heating. He has to get some cool air to them to keep that in check. Like you said if he drives it in winter then block that off when the time comes. There are many companies that make brake duct scoops and hoses. I am not sure if the TT has a kit out there for it but I would not be surprised.

Or he would have to get a setup of race only brakes that only work when hot but are unsafe for the road, then have to swap back and forth as necessary unless he wants to change his driving style on the track

Cooling the brakes seems to be the best option although I think a rotor upgrade is in order also.
He can't go to s more aggressive high temp pad because the rotors can't handle the heat generated by the Pagid Blues which are only one step up from factory.

Are there race only rotors available? Along with race only pads? That stuff will still melt the other things in the area tho so ducting seems still necessary
