After getting my first taste of track time last year, the limitations of the stock Camaro seats were painfully obvious. They are good seats on their own, but when you are flying around a road circuit at high speed or throwing your car around an autocross course and struggling to stay IN the seats, you become quickly aware that better seats are needed.

After many upgrades to the interior look as well, I had to get something new and these are what I decided on. http://www.cipherauto.com/BRacing-Seatsb/Cipher-Auto-Racing-Seats/CPA1019-Series/CPA1019-Black-Cloth-W-Suede-Insert-Grey-Outer-Stitching-Cipher-Auto-Racing-Seats-Pair They were $399 for the pair shipped. I tried to use the stock brackets, that didn't work as the seats are about 2" narrower than stock. The brackets were made for the car and not a universal type fit, and they were another $198 and are built very sturdy. The out-of-box condition of the "new" brackets was horrible. They had a sloppy paint job and some amateurish welds. But after a trip to my buddy Guy's http://www.baumannspowdercoat.com/ for a couple mod's and some great powdercoat work, they looked installation worthy. The addition some stainless hardware from Totally Stainless completed the install.

The seats fit me great, they have a rotary dial type recline adjustment, great material used. No long drives yet, but they feel great so far.

Scott, thanks for your business. I'm glad you're happy with the seats.. they look great in there! The stainless hardware is a nice touch too. I'll agree the paint job on the brackets is less than stellar, especially for a nice interior like yours. But they are stout and get the job done. Hope you enjoy the seats!

Scott/Tony the seats look awesome and are a great value! Question for you both though, is stainless hardware good enough? Scott's running the road course and in an emergency (hope not!) I would not want my seat hardware to fail. Not meaning to stir the pot, but this is something I've been thinking about for my own install...

The Cipher seats come with grade 8 bolts for assembly and I believe for the bracket/slider assembly as well. I've personally used the factory hardware to mount the brackets to the floor.

It looks like Scott added the stainless hardware to mount the brackets to the floor.

All of their hardware is Grade 8 or better in strength or it wouldn't be in my car. So no worries at all !! But thanks for bringing it up, good point.

Look great. Do they fold forward easily to access to the back or do you have to rotate the dial?

Did your headroom increase or decrease with them?
