too low!! new ridetech stuff

I just installed ridetech uppers, lowers, spindles, and single adj coilovers. I CANNOT get the car to come up to an acceptable ride height...... Anybody running this setup have any insight for a dumba$$ new to this?? LOL Oh yeah, it's on a 68 camaro, and I WANT IT LOW, just need to be able to drive it! I have one side at 0 preload and I've run the other up an inch or so and it got so tight I thought I might be doing something wrong... Any ideas?

you don't have it tight enough yet. DSE springs you can run the coils to 3/8" gap before coil bind fully loaded. Ridetech shocks won't be near that tight but you have more cranking to do. What springs weights and what motor?

Take the wt.# off the car then tighten the spanner nut.

Got it, finally separated lower arm from spindle and ran it up, put back together and evthing is fine. Thanks

So what is the lesson learned here? It's not standard to take everything apart before adjusting the height? I'm looking at this route in the future. Thanks

Okay... thanks, I think? :) Have you tried adjusting it since you broke the spindle loose? Maybe something was hung up?

Just the extra weight of the car compressing the spring. With the car in the air, there is less tension on the spring so you can run it tighter.

If you want to raise the front you should tighten both springs evenly.

I still think I'm being misunderstood as for the car being in the air.... From the start, I had the car in the air with the tires hanging. Thinking that if anything, this would help since that's the direction I wanted to go anyway. My problem was... It was still so tight that I was afraid of tearing the aluminum threads off of the body of the shock. When I separated the lower arm from the spindle, I could run it up by hand...?? That's what I don't get... I just know it worked so really not pondering it much anymore. I'm happy with it now, even though it hasn't been road tested. Won't be long though!
