Header to brake line clearance

Is there a rule of thumb for how much clearance there should be between headers and brake lines?

I currently have about 1/4" of room between the brake line on the cross-member and one of the primary tubes. I should be able to bend it a bit, and get more room. But what should I be shooting for? I'm hoping I don't have to run a new hardline. Headers are ceramic coated if it makes a difference.

I have some of this I can split and run over the line too.

That's probably fine how it is. Where and how the header passes the crossmember line is such a short distance running more or less perpendicular to the brake line, it would be difficult to transfer enough heat to cause any issues IMO. Now if they were/are very close and parallel to one another for an extended length, that can be a different story

Thanks Tobin! You're right it is a quick perpendicular pass between the header and brake line. I was able to get a bit more room by moving the line, and also slid some of the heat protection over the line as well.

I'll be in touch soon to finish off the parking brake set up for my Olds rear end with C5 brakes!
