Is anybody running this combination?
275/35/18 & 295/40/18
I’m looking to move up from my current 17s & stuff the wheel wells of my 71 Chevelle convertible.
I plan to run the 275/35/18s on a 9 inch in the front.
Ultimately I’d like to run 305/35R18 on a 10 inch in the rear (like musclecarjohn), but I can only find them in a drag radial.
I generally put 2500+ miles on my car so getting caught in the rain is unavoidable, so I’d rather not get a drag radial.
I’d like to run the Falken Azenis RT-615K because of the 200 treadwear.
I’m a little worried about the drastic difference in sidewall height with the 275/35/18 & 295/40/18
Falken makes a 315/30/18, but it’s just too short for my wheel well.
Does anybody make a 305/35R18 that’s not a drag radial?
I saw R Linke had 275/35/18 & 295/40/18 on his 70 Chevelle project, but it’s hard to get a feel for it without the body on the frame.
Any input would be great.
Thanks!

Dan how about NTo5s in 275/35-18 and 295/35-18? I think these are the sizes Tom Farrington runs on KDWs
I got a pair of 295/45-20s if you really want to fill out that wheel well......

I'm running 295-35-19 on the back of my 70 GSX replica. 245-40-18 fronts. The stagger looks killer.

search andrewb70 as he has the Falken 295/40/18 tires with i believe 255/40/18 up front on his 70 GTO.
I have 295/35/18 and 275/35/18 Nitto NT05 on my Chevelle. I would also prefer the taller tire on the rear like the Falken in a 40 series but went with these because they were cheaper. I have only done a few events and it does tax the tires. Here is a picture from the front

Here is a side picture. You can see the rear tire sidewall is short

I sometimes wish I had 17" wheels as the 18" look kinda big at times imo

Thanks for all the input. After staring at dozens and dozens of photos, and having some side conversations with Andrew, Chris Jacobs and Rob Linke, I know what tires I want to run.
I’m going to run the Falken Azenis RT-615K with 275/35/18 in front and 295/40/18
Wheels will be 18x9 with 5.5 BS front and 18x10 with 5.625 BS rear.
Now I just have to figure the wheel style. I have a like/hate with my Billet Specialties HiBoys Like the look, Hate to polish them.
I’m gonna run my 17s for a few months while I waffle regarding a new wheel style. I’m leaning towards something with a polished rim and a gray center. but thinking it needs a full polished wheel.....and there's the waffling.
For reference here's the current set up
255/40/17 and 275 40/17

Dan make sure you measure YOUR CAR for b.s. When i did my intros last yr my rear b.s came out to 6 1/8,fronts 5 1/4. It was do to the fact that the c 5 swap in front with turned down drum hubs narrows the track width by .240 each side(muscle car jon has stock discs front)the rears increased 1/8 per side.my wheel tire combo is 18x9 front,18x10 rear 275 35 18 bfg kdws, rears are 305 35 18.
