I just got some sparco seats for my 68 camaro so now i am fabricating my own mounting brackets. I just started welding a couple days ago so let me know what you guys think. :)
Its 1/8 inch steel, 2 inches wide. I want to know if this is this thick enough steel and if my welds are good and if i need more welds, and if these will be strong and safe enough.

I spot welded the pieces together and welded along the seam where it is boxed in. Do you think i should keep welding along the whole seam or will this be strong enough?

the 2 smaller holes with the arrows will line up with the seats to bolt in. and the big hole on top is to allow me to tighten the bolt to the floor and I boxed that area in for extra strength. it will be a tight fit but i'm 6' 3" and i don't want my head rubbing on the headliner :hammer:

The gusset looks good and so do your welds. You essentially have a 1/4 inch of material there when you stack it so I think it should be plenty strong. Maybe think about gusseting the other mount. Something similar to my mark-up.

Bring the gusset forward of the bolt and it will also cary some of the load.
