I need to calibrate the speedo on my tremec 3550 and was wondering if there are any drive and driven gears from other trannies that will work. I know I could order the right gear from Fortes or Kiesler, but I was hoping to find it locally. Let me know if some other tranny uses the same speedo gears.

Thanks,

Jeremy

You can buy them from your local Ford parts counter. NAPA may even be able to order them for you.

Here's the Ford info:

1980/89 Ford/Lincoln Mercury Cars

Type/Color/Teeth/PN

3A Gold or Yellow 18 C0DD 17271-B
3A Wine 16 C0DZ 17271-A
3A Pink 19 C0DZ 17271-B
3A Black 20 C1DZ 1721-A
3A Purple 17 C2DZ 17271-G

3A Blue 20 C2DZ 17271-H
3A Orange 16 C2DZ 17271-J
3A Green or White 18 C2DZ 17271-K
3A Green or White 17 C3DZ 17271-C
3A Pink end only 19 C4DZ 17271-A
3A Red 21 C4OZ 17271-A

Why are there are some replications? Perhaps to distinguish between models or brands, who knows. Take your old gear with you to Ford and have them match it up to a picture that is in their catalogs. Section 172, Page 2. Verify my part numbers to the Ford part, on Page 3.
