Does anyone have any pictures of thier 1/4 panel installation on a coupe. I am about ready to install mine but in the book I have they were replacing a convertable 1/4 so they didnt really cover attaching the top of the sail panel to the roof.

When i took the 1/4 off I did it all wrong (live and learn)
, I melted the lead out but instead of drilling out the spot welds I just cut the 1/4 out, it looks just like your pictures did however now there is still a part of the 1/4 under the roof.
I just wanted to make sure that the "lip" on the top is supposed to slide underneath the roofline

also on the strip of metal on the forward facing portion of the sail, is it supposed to butt up to the drip rail or does it go under the drip rail also ?

I dont know what i was thinking when i took that part off of the car, i drilled out every other spot weld except on the sail :screwy: :smoke:

Thanks for any advise on how it should all come together

well when you cut the 1/4 off at the top did you cut into the roof at all or did you leave the spot welds and only cut on the car? If the spot welds are still there you did nothing wrong just drill them out then go inside the car and you will have to search around and find a few more that will need to be drilled from the inside. This can take some time but will be worth it if you get it all out.

On the forward facing part it just lays down in the channel of the drip rail and there are a bunch of spot welds right on the edge of the quarter. i found it easiest to grind the spot welds down with a cutoff wheel on my die grinder.

i cut the quarter panel off too and then drilled out all the spot welds. here is a pic that i found on the other computer. If you want some pictures of the spot welds from the inside i can try to make it over to our storage building and snap some.

I got it all out last night, I didnt realize that there is another 1" of 1/4 panel in the roof. I would have never found the other 10 spot welds on the inside of the car if you hadnt have told me about it. Thanks for all of your help!!! Now i just have to wait on a few more parts to arrive before i can install the 1/4.
