I am debating on running 20s all the way around on my Chevelle.... I really want to run a 22 in the rear or do a 18 front 20s rear. Just aint sure how it will look and drive? any info, pics, or ideas about look and ride quality would be greatly appreciated!

2" is alot of stagger. just remember that if you stagger your wheel diameter 2", you will need to stagger the tire diameter at least 2" to keep the rear sidewalls from being shorter than the front sidewalls. this can be hard to do and keep matching tires.

It's your car. Do what you want. Personally, I'd do the 18/20 combo. Nice paint by the way.

Ya it looks good as is now, you could always go with a 19/20 combo.. Unless the thing is bagged and gets down and low I wouldn't run a 22 on the back of that. You would have to tuck some serious wheel to get it to look right.

Would I have an issue if I went with a shorter tire up front? I want the car to look like its leaning forward. Could I fit a 22 in their? Its not mini tubbed or anything crazy underneath.

N just to be clear I feel if Im going to beak bread for rims, i should get a bigger rim.. Maybe im trippin. What do yall think?
the wheels on the car look great. to get a little rake, lower the front. shoot for even fender to wheel gaps front to rear.

I'd either run a fatter tire out back or lower the front if you want some rake to it. It really does look good as is....

Looks good as is. 22s are for donks, not muscle cars.

Leave it as it is... definitely dont go 22's, those are not for muscle cars as people have stated.

Also with a 20, i can still consider that a performance rim right? Cuz my ls6 should be puttin down about 500+ to the wheels.

If your going to drive it hard a bit keep the 20s if u want it just for show just buy the (2) 22s rears same wheels for show and you can always but back the 20s or vice versa w/18s or 19s up front but your right big bucks for small wheels sucks

I think a 20 rear and 19 front look great on a A body chevelle. ( just my own opinion) TIFWIW......
20 is to big already car sits to high and on to skinny a tire, for me

We are going with 19/20's on Project Sabre, and I think that is about the maximum size I'd go with on a PT car, personally.

I have a 18/20 combo on my 56 and wished it was a 19/20 or 20/22 honestly! Car looks great the way it sits IMO.

18s all the way around...
Andrew
Here's one we put 20s on all the way around but the front is a little tight. 18/19 or 19/20 are my favorite on 66-67s but like said before, it's your car so it's your call.

Eh yo jayr.. How much for some rims from your company?? I like the battery rim. 19x8 up front with a 20x10.5 or maybe 11 wide in the rear?? With the center powder black? Just ball park. Im looking for rims so any info would help.

how much you want for the one's on your car?
I like the 19/20 stagger on the bigger cars like a Chevelle myself. I went 18/19 on my 67' Nova and think it looks perfect. The one thing about this is the STANCE. I've seen all sorts of sizes and the stance makes the ride. Impala's with 20/22 combos looks good if the car is low enough....

I have been very pleased with my 18/19 set up. I looked at tons of different sizes before deciding. 20/20 look great if you have a bagged car. Without the ability to set it on the frame when parked I think 20/20 did not look right. And i tried to justifiy it since it could have saved me a lot of money by going with a cheaper wheel that was available in that size. Some people can even manage 22/20 with the right stance and bags.
Without bags I would gladly do my 18/19 set up again or go with 18/18; 19/20

So im leaning towards these... Forged 3 pc Asantis. Model #CX506. Im propbly gonna have them done with a black center, and polished lip, no writing on the lip. Obviously these colors aint right. But yall get it

Maybe incorporate some red on the wheels since your frame is bright red? Those are pretty cool wheels though.

I was thinking bout that. Like the black and yellow rims pictured. Just do red where those are yellow. I dont like the "ASANTI" on the lip tho.

I agree with what some others said. While 20's all around (or 22/20) can look good, IMO it requires frame modifications in the front and tubs in the back with full air ride. Without significant modifications, you will have to go with too small a tire, and it is just going to look like you stuffed the biggest wheel you could in there.
Without any major modifications and without air bags, I would personally say 19's all around are the max. I think that will still force you to modify the inner fender up front. If you want a stagger go 19/20. But hey man, like they say its YOUR car. Make yourself happy.
On the Asanti's you may want to note that people have said it takes a VERY long time for them to make/ship wheels. I have no experience with them personally, but you may want to check around if that is still the case. Unless you don't care if you have to wait 6-9 months.

The car looks very nice. I would go with a 20/19 setup as well. The Asantis you posted look nice but they are HEAVY!!!!!

The car has qa1s all the way round. The front and rear lowered. 2'' front 1.5'' rear when pictured. I have since changed the rims to 19'' all around and the car got a lower stance.. about 3'' front 2.5'' rear. I will try n post some pics of the new setup soon. I have a 285 rear tire with no rub in the rear. I wanted to do a 295, but didnt want a fat ass tire. I wanted the low profile look. But let me say if you want a tire to hook up, dont do a low profile look. My car gets sideways any time I punch it. Lots of fun, just not ideal for street racing:)

Well you can stick rubber band tires on a car but they will still handle, ride and look like crap.
I see people put on super thin sidewalls in college town I work in, they trash sidewalls and rims left and right AND the cars ride HORRIBLE.
From tires i have seen in 30 series or lower sidewall size they are major PIA to install even if you have the uber expensive machine. They also balance like CRAP. I watched a guy mount up a set of huge forgelines, with I believe were Michelin tires and they were like 20 or 22 with those tiny a$$ sidewalls. EVEN on a hunter roadforce balancer they were considered undriveable spec wise.
would have taken HUGE amounts of weight to make rune right. Wheels were fine tires were fine, ie no damage, actually on rim completely. Owner wound up putting Counteract balance beads in wheel so it didnt bump like it had a separated tire.
He ended up selling those wheels and tires and installed a Corvette sized 18/19 and wheels balanced, he could get tires over night and didnt end up impact breaking the sidewalls. Took him 3 weeks to get others and had to pay high over night freight to replace 2 of the larger ones under road hazard.
Also the larger tires cost over $2400 for 4 tires, Corvette sized he got Sumitomo tires for less than $800 w/road hazard.
First of all if you are gonna spend $6k-$7k on wheels, you definitely have bigger budget than me.
I have been building engines for people who finally decided to let go of funds to actually build a "real" engine, and most of those have been searching for others throw aways.
Heck I have been looking at mildly damaged Rushforths and passing and those are priced in the range of custom American Racing Wheels.
I also dont see much performance being done on 22s. and eating up $1000 in tires in a week end,,,well I just dont have that kind of credit. Hope you do.
Good Luck
