I'd like to introduce Cipher Racing Seats. 2 years ago I purchased a set of their seats and custom brackets for myself and was so impressed I decided to become a dealer rep for them. And now I'm glad to be able to sponsor pro-touring.com to sell them here.

Currently I have their 1013 series installed in my Monte. They are $379 Delivered anywhere in the U.S. I used their custom brackets to bolt them into place. The fit, finish and comfort is amazing. I've driven over 400 highway miles in them with no "crap! my butt/back are sore" thoughts when I exit the car. They are firm, but comfortable.

Cipher has a full line up of seats that I offer. Have a look at them all here:

Can't argue too much about the price....seeing what other mfg's get for their products.

Wow, great price. The pair you have installed look like what a friend of mine used to sell on LS1Tech, but his wholesaler ran out of product. Damn, I might be sold with these over the Corbeau's I've been eyeing.

1025's look almost exactly like CR1s.

Is there an FIA cert for the fixed back seat?

I was very pleased with the finish and quality of seats, and I agree, they do look a lot like some of the other, higher priced name brand seats. They are certainly cost effective.

Here's a closeup of a model 1025 for $379 a pair, delivered. That includes sliders, but not the brackets.

No, but for the price they run, you could always get them reupholstered later on.

My prices are either the same or sometimes even less than theirs. I do my best to get the lowest price. I personally handle your order and stay in touch. Most seats ship within 2-3 days of ordering. Custom brackets take 7-10 days to manufacture.

Nick, many people don't think they need brackets but end up needing them. I can't tell you how many bracket orders after the fact I've done. It holds them up on installing their seats. Unless you are a fabricator, I would advise on ordering the brackets to mount the seats.

PM being sent on pricing.

Those are nice seats too.

I spoke to Cypher and they don't actually offer a Gen 1 bracket anyway and their Gen 2 brackets are in "re-design". Fabbing is no issue..I need to get them as low as possible for head room with a helmet.

Can you send a price quote for CPA1019PSDBK with mounting brackets for a 1969 Pontiac Firebird with shipping cost to 78749?
Any chance they can do red stitching instead of the grey on this?

I'm not aware of any that have the 5th slot for a 5 point harness.

The third one in your first post has a 5th slot. that's the only one I see, was wondering if there are more styles, cause I like the seats but need one that has provisions for a 5 point.

You're right.. thanks for point that out.

It looks the CPA2010 GT-8 series (http://www.cipherauto.com/BRacing-Seatsb/Cipher-Racing/CPA2010-GT-8-Series) all have the 5th slot.

In my case, the Cipher brackets were very near the same height as my factory ones, so it worked out perfect.

John, the new brackets being used now are measure about 2" front and 3" rear off the floor. They are built lower now to mount the seat lower to the floor.

Very interested. What do these seats and brackets weigh? Application would be a '68 Charger. How do you feel about the leatherette on the cpa1026's? Their website shows a promo for free belts too with those seats, can i get that thru you?

edit: I think i like the 1018fbkgy a little better, what do those weigh also?

Their seats weight about 28lbs each. Plus about 10lbs mounting bracket weight per side. The faux leather is very good quality. I've not seen or felt it myself, but previous customers never had any complaints.

And yes you can get the free belts with their promo through me on those selected seats. If you'd like a quote just let me know, thanks!

Nick

Nick,
I ordered a pair of Cipher seats from Tony and fabbed my own mount using a 3/16" x17x15.5 plate. I laid out the bolt pattern for the floor of the car on the plate and a second bolt pattern for the seat mounts. Then simply punced the eight holes in the plate, bolted the plate to the seat then bolted the whole assy to the floor. You could not get the seat any lower unless you removed the sliders.

The dual locking sliders are available only on certain seats... but I don't think they're needed unless a tech inspection requires them. I have no experience with their headlights, I would assume they're worth what they cost. PM returned.

Tony I have some Summit brackets for their ProCar copy that look real close to my Recaro brackets-think they would fit? The Summit seats feel like you are arching your back with no shoulder support (almost tilted back up at the top)and I think even with a helmet on my head doesn't touch the head rest! The Ciphers look like they tilt slightly forward in the top/shoulder area.

Tony_SS

Skip, let me know the seat mounting points on the bracket, side to side and front to back, and I'll let you know if the Cipher's will bolt on top of the bracket.

I'm desperately in need on seats for my 68 Chevelle. My seats have no head rest and I'm always worried about being rear ended, I was in a very bad car accident 12 years ago and have a neck injury that will never heal...

What's the difference in all the seats? I'd want something to somewhat match the black vinyl in the car...

My door panels are black vinyl yet my seats are black cloth. You can get either vinyl or cloth, either would look great against black vinyl door and rear panels, IMO.

The difference is basically minor cosmetic designs in most of the seats.

For $140 each, I don't think they are overpriced. The quality is there, these are all 1/4 thick steel with a nice powdercoat finish. The welds are superior as well. The nice part is they accept not only Cipher seat, but Sparco, Bride, Corbeau, Recaro, etc. So down the line if you want to swap seats, you wont have to get new brackets.

I'm very interested in ONE of the seat brackets, if it would lower my seat. Do you sell them individually? If I get one and it doesn't lower my seat, is it returnable and is there a restocking fee?

The Planted bracket might lower your seat, I can't say for sure. It depends on what setup you are running now.

Nice looking seats.

It seems they have two grades of seats. Those that run ~$399 a pair, and those run about double that amount. The higher grade seats all appear to come with dual lock sliders. Besides that difference, what else differentiates their two grades of seats? i.e. is the main difference the quality of the seat covering, and/or a different grade of foam, and/or something else?

The seats that start at $699 and up and very much higher end. The fit, finish, covering and internals are all superior. That is not to take away from their $399 seats, which are very well constructed and a great value, but the upper tier seats are just that much better. If your standards require that, it's worth the added cost.
