Interstate truck weigh stations...garbage dumps...
FYI, I inquired about getting some of my vehicles weighed at the weight stations along the interstate here in VA and they basically told me to get lost. However, just about any large truck stop along the free way will have "certified" scales and will weigh your vehicle for about 15 bucks (least thasts what they charged me here at the local Flying J truck stop).

Also, scrap metal yards have scales. Flip someone $5, done!

Hmm, don't want to get my car too close to those cranes with the big magnets on the end!!! :drive2:

Try your local race track.
That'd be what I'd do. Our golfcart weighs a good 800 pounds...

I cleaned out my garbage corner in the garage last week. Took a truck load of junk to the dump. They weighed my truck going in and coming out. Cost me $4.00 to dump my garbage and I found out how much my truck weighs for free. ('04 silverado 1/2 ton, standard cab, long box = 4840 lbs. with full tank of gas)
Next time, I'll use the Nova or Vega to make my dump run. :naughty:

check with the local circle track guys. any one of them that has been racing for any time(and winning)has a set of scales. if you get to know these guys good enough, maybe when you get closer to final locations for some of your heavier items they will let you juggle them around on the scale to help with corner weights.

Wow, one advantage to living in a farming community...I have 4 scales within 3 miles away and its free. O and by the way my twin turbo vette weighs 3400 lbs with a full tank of gas. Is that good or bad? My 69 AMX weighs about the same.

The best way to weigh your car is a set of racing scales. This will allow you to see what each corner weighs to improve cornering and adjust suspension preloads with adjustable springs/shocks/struts.
Someone at just about any circle track or road race track will have a set (4).

Moving companies will usually let you use their scales for a fee. I weighed the Road Runner and my Dodge truck at the local Bekins. The Road Runner is 3700 and the Dodge was a bit over 7000 lbs.
