Quarter mile racing is for wimps...and who needs roll cages or helmets when going 170MPH? Bring your girlfriend along for the ride!
The lawyers in the USA would shut this place down in a nanosecond...

I have always said we needed a long drag track out in the desert.
A couple friends have been known to go to "Mexico" for some nice clean fun.
My SV against a stock Busa.

We usually have some stupid fast cars and bikes show up.

It looked like they had all the safety personnel there. Fire,EMS,cleanup and choppers. Much better than most street racers have. I wish the Americas were not so litigious based. We might still have quartermile tracks still. Seems like every year we loose another track.

This type of racing is very interesting. It is set up exactly like quarter mile racing, just longer. If you look at some of the times it seems that a tenth at the start can equate to as much as a full second by the end of the run. This makes sense because on a quarter mile track a tench is usually worth 2-3 tenths on the big end. The racers are all clearly inexperienced. I am not being judgmental, just making observations. Also note that the car that crosses the finish line first is not always declared the winner. This again makes sense because reaction time is not counted. So a car can launch late, but the clock doesn't start counting until the staging beam is broken. So I could sit at the light long after the green light goes off, cross the finish line 10 seconds after my opponent and still win the race. Again, I don't think many of these guys quite get the concept.
It is also clear that the all wheel drive cars dominate, again this is no surprise, considering the above statement. I wonder how long it will be before one of these rich Russian guys gets a hold of AMS?
