Its getting closer! The new Ridetech 1933 Ford should be there. Ridetech is also bringing the 48 Hour Camaro with a new 417 Lingenfelter engine that should promise some nice horsepower. :drive:

Oh MAN!!!
Mary P.
There will be lots of track time here...time trials from 7:00am till 3:30pm. The top 32 shootout starts at 4:30. That's what pays $1000 to win and then back 16 places. Lots of fun for $50 entry!
We'll have 4 cars there...48Hour Camaro, 33Ford, 66 Chevelle, and my 69 Mustang. I heard there are 75 cars already signed up.

Yeah, that C10 was a force to be reckoned with, and it sounded amazing!
GREAT time at Salem Saturday at Battle at the Banks!
The 33 Ford appeared at Salem, but I didn't race it for the reasons I explained in the build thread.
Several really good cars there...Jimi Day's AMXcess, Jeff Schwartz's Ultima GTR, Trent Summers/Brad Coomers new C10 truck, Mike King's new 63 Tempest, Terry Neuville's 68 Camaro [from Louisiana!], and several well prepped Corvettes...including the winning Vette of Danny Popp.
There were a fair number of pre entries leading up to the event, but severe weather on Friday night scared some off. The lightning was spectacular, the rain heavy...but it was all gone by Saturday morning. Then all we had to contend with was the "water features" left in the infield. All it took was a little time, a little sunshine, and a small reconfiguration of the track and we were racing by 10:30.
If you've never run hard on a steeply banked track, it is certainly a different experience...especially when there is a 2 foot thick concrete wall mere inches from your passenger window. [in reality its about 35 feet, but it looks like inches:)] Most cars were carrying 70-80 mph through that turn and would hit 90-95 before braking for the infield transition. We certainly found out who had brakes and who didn't :).
There were a fair amount of spectators that showed up. The grandstands at Salem offer a great view. The entire Salem facility is first class...the stands, the concession stands, the bathrooms, the parking lot, the track staff...a really nice place to come. I'm looking forward to going back later this year or again next year.
We'll get some pictures and video put up later today. Thanks to all the participants, spectators, and the RideTech employees that came out for the event. I think its the start of a nice tradition!

What a great event and a great time. It was totally worth the 820 miles one way trip. The high bank was new to me and was something I wanted to experience....... it was fun and fast but I have to admit very intimidating.
Thanks to Cale, Bret and the whole Ridetech crew for all the hard work for us to have fun. BBQ was awesome!!!!
Thanks Chad.... you always make the events entertaining. But I need to ask Trent if he knows about a hex that was placed during the elimination rounds that might have caused a certain car to take out the finish line ;-)
The new Ridetech shocks performed flawlessly. Still learning them and adjusting but they are night and day better than what I had before. Just wish I was as good as the shocks were.

Bret, any more info on this Lemans? I have one just like it in my garage;it's three cars down in line. You never see these cars on the West Coast and back East they are usually drag cars, not g-machines.

Hey Carl, it's Mike King's 1963 Pontiac Tempest Lemans. He's got a post about it on Lateral-G: http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=28377 It sounds mean!

It's not a Camaro so your audience is automatically pared down to about seven people. I have been AWOL for a little while so I didn't see it. I would have paid it an embarrassing amount of attention! Truth be told, I hate you a little bit because I wanted to be the first one to build a PT version. I guess I'll just have to sell mine now. Just kidding. Or am I?
