Well ladies and gentlepeople. This is the offical thread for the Pro-Touring. com model build contest. Rules: Any year, make, or model of vehicle. Must appear street legal. Pro-touring type vehicle, ( it is Pro-touring.com) make it easy for the first contest, if you want to join just post up what you are building, can be one already started, or one just purchased. ends Dec 1, 2012 ( date subject to change, but will not be earlier) I know the car season is starting to happen around the country. So I may just open the end date to later, maybe SEMA 2013. to give us time to build. So let's start building. Tim

I've got a few that I started a while back, maybe this will give me the incentive to finish a couple of them!

Street legal? Of course I just bought 2 race cars lol. I was eyeballing a widebody fox body mustang, might have to build that.

I started collecting model cars as a teenager, and currently have around 300 unopened model kits, mostly GM musclecars (and a few Fords & a couple of 'Cuda's in the mix, somewhere), so this may give me a reason to take inventory, and get back into modelbuilding with you guys, here!
Looking forward to seeing what others will have to share, for creative ideas!

Cool, I'm in. I am working on a 79 Z28, accually 2 of the same kits(note to self brake clean does infact melt model car windows), one will be a before and other will look like an after restoration.

This might be a build I can afford and have the space to build. I'll have to give it some thought and get started.

The 67 is an AMT That I've kitbashed from about 5 different kits, pulling the bits and pieces I liked from each kit, the others are box stock monogram/revell kits. I started building as a kid and have kind of drifted in and out of it for about the last 20 years, anymore I'm probably just an average builder, but I'm lucky enough to have a friend who can paint them with automotive BC/CC for me, I just find out what colors he's going to be shooting and if there's something I like I have him spray them for me. Just like anything else, it's all in the prep. I have a 78 TA that I would really love to finish up someday, if I can find a pic of it I'll post them.

Do we need to just post our compeleted build here? Are we still doing this or has the date been extended.

I'd forgotten about this; if you don't post pics of what you already have built, then Ih8z28s will have no competition for posting the ONLY pics as his entries!

This ever go anywhere?
I like to build 'em but haven't had much time over the last 15 years or so. I'm going to try to start a build for one starting in August. I've got maybe 50 un-built kits in storage. My younger son is turning 9 and want to get him a snap kit, poor guy's been neglected on the car hobby so far. This could be a good excuse to get going again and a fun activity for my two sons and I to do on Sundays after church.

I'd love to do this. I have hundreds of unbuilt kits (don't tell my wife!) and maybe about 3 completed builds! Unfortunately, when it comes down to working on my 1:1 car or a model, the 1:1 wins every time.

I've got a couple unbuilt models. Between my cars and house, I'm too busy to build one right now, but I'm interested in seeing some built. Maybe I'll pull out the ones I've got and try to do at least a few mins a day and see if I can get one done in the next year or two lol.
