Wow! While it's not active members it's still a big number.
Some time this morning we broke the 30,000 member mark!
Thanks to everyone who is a member, a moderator, a sponsor and even the lurkers.

Cool Larry! I'm curious - what's the size of a 30,000 member database??? (the techie in me wants to know!)

how often do you purge non-posting / non-active members? Or is that cumulative?

The only thing I have ever purged was the classifieds section.
You can see how many active users there are at the bottom of the forum.
I think the database is 3 to 4 gig in size not counting attachments. That's just text from posts.

This is a great site, i'm sorry i didnt find it sooner. And i'm suprised at the number considering the quality of it, it will continue to grow...I am a member at KTMtalk and they had a contest last year guessing the date of member #100,000, thats a great site too....

Awesome. Congrats.

I would venture a guess that no forums ever purge registered members for lack of usage.
It's counterproductive to their existence and revenue opportunities from membership count.
Think about it. ;)

Thats a heck of a lot of members. My "home" board that I'm a mod on has around 6000 members....but then we're pretty restricted to just 70-81 Firebirds as a core group. Fun to watch it grow, though. I've been there since there were about 40 members in total.
How do you find the time to weed through the spammers trying to register and keep everything running?

Lots of unpaid interns.
