I am almost finished wiring the 5" Autometer gauges into the 2002 trans am dash and im trying to get ideas of where to mount this autometer electronic sending unit. It is so big and ugly IMO. If all else fails I will just paint it.
I know it mounts behind the dist but its just so big.

I had to use a brass fitting to get it in the right position to clear the manifold and distributer, but finally got it to fit back there.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking too. Did you mount yours at an angle or use some "L" fittings? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

I used an aeroquip braided line from the block port to a T on the firewall. From that I connected an Autometer oil pressure gauge and low pressure light.

Sounds like another really good idea. I will do some Google searching to see if I can dig up some pics.

Here's one pic. The braided line could use trimming to shorten but it's not high on my list yet.

Thanks for the pic. So these can be mounted sideways or in any direction?? I didnt realize that. I assumed it had to be mounted vertical.

I found this picture that shows the elbow that some people use.
I really like your braded hose idea the best though. I will probably pick something up tomorrow morning. Depending on the price I am leaning towards the braded hose. You have yours mounted right where my slave cylinder reservoir is for the hydrolic clutch.

I didn't use an angled fitting... just needed a little extra clearance over the Performer RPM Air-Gap manifold. Scooted the sensor up about 1/4''.

I ended up using Rick Dorin's idea with the braded hose. I bought a 18" steel line and mounted it on the passenger side above the heater core. Thanks for the ideas.
